John Moore (British Major)
John Moore (died 1857) was a British Major during the time of the Indian Rebellion of 1857. He commanded the 32nd Cornwall Light Infantry.
== Military career ==

During the first week of the Siege of Cawnpore, Indian Rebel Leader Nana Sahib's forces encircled the British entrenchment, created loopholes and established firing positions from the surrounding buildings. Captain John Moore of the 32nd (Cornwall) Light Infantry countered this by launching night-time Sorties. He was killed in action later in the siege.〔(Cawnpore )〕
